Opening of Tranquility Room at Great Oaks Hospital

The Right Revd John Saxbee, Bishop of Lincoln opened a Tranquility Room at Great Oaks Hospital, Scunthorpe on 18 November 2009.

The Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust have supported this initiative at Great Oaks.     Revd Anne McCormick, the Chaplain at Great Oaks, recognised the need for a Tranquility Room for people of all faiths and denominations.   The room will provide an oasis for peace and reflection for patients at Great Oaks.

Anne is a member of the North Lincolnshire Multi Faith Partnership and the Partnership is delighted at this initiatve which coincides with Inter Faith Week and recognises the fundamental need for spiritual and pastoral support for people suffering from mental health problems.
